Jan 15, 2026By Neha Gupta

Delhi ki bheed, traffic, pollution — sab chhod ke ek deep breath leni ho, nature ki goad mein. Aur good news yeh hai ki Delhi ke 200–300 km ke daayre mein itne amazing places hain ki hain ki har weekend nayi jagah ja sakte ho!
Manmauji Trip ke saath weekend getaways bahut easy ho jaate hain — Friday night departure, Sunday wapsi, aur Monday fresh mind ke saath office. Sunno, plan karo, chalo!
Best Weekend Getaways from Delhi (Under 300 km)
Rishikesh — Yoga Capital of the World (250 km, 5 hrs)
The most popular weekend escape from Delhi for a reason. White-water rafting on the Ganga, bungee jumping at Jumpin Heights, beachside cafes on the riverbank, and the magical Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat every evening. Yoga and meditation centres for those wanting to reconnect with themselves. Take Friday night sleeper bus (₹350) and be there Saturday morning.
Agra — Timeless Wonder (200 km, 4 hrs)
Yes, Agra works beautifully as a weekend trip. Arrive Friday night, wake up for the Taj Mahal sunrise — the most magical light show in the world, absolutely free. Add Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, and the famous Agra petha before driving back Sunday afternoon. Yamuna Expressway makes it a smooth 3.5 hour drive.
Neemrana — Heritage Weekend (130 km, 2.5 hrs)
The iconic step-well palace on the Delhi–Jaipur highway. Neemrana Fort Palace is a stunning 15th-century heritage hotel — pool terraces on multiple levels, superb Rajasthani food, and a quiet escape with incredible architecture. A perfect 1-night luxury weekend with partners or family. Also works as a day trip from Delhi.
Mussoorie — Queen of the Hills (290 km, 6 hrs)
The classic Pahadi weekend. Mall Road for evening walks, Kempty Falls for a refreshing dip, Landour for colonial cottages and Ruskin Bond's bookshop, and the view of the Doon Valley from Company Garden. Drive up Friday evening, be there Saturday morning, return Sunday evening.
Lansdowne — Quiet & Offbeat (250 km, 5 hrs)
Not many people know Lansdowne — and that's exactly what makes it magical. A tiny cantonment hill town of the Garhwal Rifles, surrounded by dense oak and rhododendron forests. Zero commercialization, very few tourists, clean air. Perfect for those who want to genuinely escape — not just trade one crowd for another.
Bharatpur (Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary) (200 km, 3.5 hrs)
One of the world's finest bird sanctuaries — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over 370 species of birds including the rare Siberian Crane (winter visitor). Cycling through the forest paths, rickshaw rides at dawn to catch the nesting birds — this is the ultimate nature weekend. Pairs beautifully with a Fatehpur Sikri and Agra visit.
Kasauli — Silent & Serene (300 km, 6 hrs)
A forgotten colonial hill station in Himachal Pradesh that somehow still feels like 1890. Christ Church, Monkey Point, apple orchards, and misty forest walks — Kasauli is for those who find peace in quietness. Arrive Friday night, spend all of Saturday absolutely chilled, Sunday morning walk before driving back.
Tips for a Perfect Delhi Weekend Getaway
- Leave Delhi on Friday evening to avoid Saturday morning traffic on highways.
- For hill destinations (Mussoorie, Lansdowne, Kasauli), book accommodation 2–3 weeks in advance on peak weekends.
- Carry cash — many offbeat places don't have ATMs nearby.
- Pack light — weekend trip mein heavy luggage ek jhanjhat hai.
- Download offline maps before you go — mountain areas have poor connectivity.
